About Me

My name is Kristen and I live in the Los Angeles area, back in July of 2008 I finally made the plunge for something I had been wanting to do for a while, triathlons.

I signed up with Team in Training and did my first triathlon on October 12, 2008. I raised over $2,000 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and met a bunch of great people on the way. Since then I have not been able to stop being obsessed with triathlons. I wish I could say that I am really good at them, but most of the time I am slow. Hence, Endurance Turtle….However, I haven’t been this healthy…EVER…It can be challenging at times, but then I have my better half to cheer me on.

I also get to do all this with my best friend and fianc√©, George. We have been together since 2005 and got engaged in 2006. We are planning our wedding for May 2011, things are getting busy but it is a good busy. He is my motivator, my bike mechanic, my heart…he gets so mad at me when I want to give up, I think that is great! Although…it usually ends up with me crying….I cry really easily…not sure what my problem is. Movies kill me too, Flicka was the worst and forget about Sea Biscuit! We get to share this sport together and that is what makes it worth it every time I get out there! He is always the one that gets me to turn over my packaged foods and look at the label, otherwise my diet would mostly consist of high fructose corn syrup. He also cooks for me, I can’t cook….at all…its really sad….without him I would be eating frozen meals.

I talk about him a lot in my blog, so get used to it!

Thanks for stopping by my blog, I hope you chuckle a little, and if you are not already active…then I hope I get you to realize that anyone can integrate fitness into their lives.

My name is Amy. I played volleyball last year with your fiance, George, on DigDug! I normally respond to his triathlon quirps on facebook and have been checking out your blogs that he links…I absolutely love them! And you are an inspiration to me! I have wanted to do triathlons for some time now and have used every excuse in the book to hold me back, but between you and George and all your wonderfully inspiring and funny posts/blogs I may just have to put down the excuses and start DOING!! I know it is something I honestly can’t do right away (first and foremost, i can’t afford a road bike right now) but I swear I will in the near future…I just keep coming back to your blogs to keep me inspired and I love your new website…please keep in touch! I don’t really know how the whole blogging thing works…can I just respond to your posts on this website??

Take care and keep running, swimming, riding, and inspiring!!
